Margaret (Meg) W. Sima
Associate Attorney
Meg concentrates her practice in the areas of elder law, probate administration and litigation (including guardianship and decedent’s), trust administration, and estate planning. Meg is a skilled litigator who has handled countless cases involving elder abuse and financial exploitation, Medicaid appeals and contested guardianship matters. Meg has also frequently been appointed as Guardian ad Litem in guardianship cases. Meg was previously an adjunct professor at Robert Morris University and taught paralegal classes on the subjects of torts, domestic relations, and legal environment of business. Meg also has previously regularly lectured at Benedictine University on legal issues affecting the elderly. She has also lectured for the Chicago Bar Association and McHenry Bar Association on the issues of probate and special needs planning, as well as mental health and the law for PESI. Meg is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association. Meg served on the Village of Lisle Planning and Zoning Commission from 2014 through September 2015 and also served on the Lisle School District 202 School Board from September 2015 through 2021, serving as the School Board President from 2017-2021. Meg is currently serving as a Trustee for the Village of Lisle, having been elected in 2023. Prior to joining FMS Law Group LLC, Meg was an Assistant Public Guardian with the Cook County Public Guardian’s Office in the Juvenile Division and was an associate at a law firm focusing on probate, guardianship, and mental health law.
