James F. Dunneback (“Jim”) joined FMS Law Group LLC in July 2024 after over 30 years of running his own successful law firm. Jim concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration and litigation, and disabled adult guardianship matters.

For over forty-seven years, Jim has provided businesses, families, financial institutions, and individuals in Northern Illinois with counseling and advocacy in the areas of adult guardianship, trust and estate planning and litigation, probate matters and general corporate matters. In guardianship matters, he has represented both petitioners and respondents, and has been court-appointed as a guardian ad litem in a number of matters and for various purposes, including, but not limited to, initial investigations at the inception of a guardianship proceeding, investigation as to the status of an existing guardianship, seeking accountings, presenting citations to remove guardians, evaluating wards in connection with petitions to create estate plans, and investigating petitions to relocate wards to other jurisdictions.  Jim has also represented wards in petitions for restoration.

Jim has been published on numerous occasions and presented seminars in Illinois in the areas of Estate Planning and Estate, Trust and Guardianship Administration issues.
